[SHARED] Herculaneum Walking Tour
You will have the chance to experience something extraordinary with our Herculaneum Walking Tour.
You will meet your guide at the ticket office of the Herculaneum archaeological site.
The tour begins with a visit to the small exhibition museum inside the Archaeological Park. Here, you'll see artifacts from daily life, including jewelry, furniture, and even the impressive remains of a boat discovered on the ancient shoreline.
The tour also includes a visit to the beach area of the ancient city, where the remains of victims of the eruption still lie — a powerful and moving sight.
Next, you'll explore some of the city's finest patrician residences, such as the House of the Deer, the House of the Relief of Telephus, and the House of the Wooden Partition.
You'll also visit Roman-era public buildings like the men’s and women’s baths, as well as ancient shops where merchants once sold food and wine.
Part of ancient Herculaneum remains buried beneath the modern city and is yet to be excavated.
This is where the famous 2,000 scrolls were discovered — now preserved in the National Library of Naples.
The guided tour lasts approximately 2 hours. Afterward, you may choose to continue exploring the Archaeological Park on your own or exit the site.
