    What to bring
      • Wear comfortable, sturdy shoes with good grip; volcanic terrain can be uneven
      • Bring sun protection such as a hat and sunscreen -  there’s little shade at Pompeii ruins and on Mount Vesuvius
      • In winter, temperatures on Mount Vesuvius can be colder than at sea level. Dress warmly, in layers, and wear a jacket to stay comfortable
